His monochrome figure contrasts starkly with the neon halo of modern Colombia painted behind him vivid colours, fragmented typography, and raw energy radiating through steel mesh.
The metal grille serves as both literal barrier and metaphor: Gaitán’s ideals, once vibrant and revolutionary, now layered in history, resilience and surveillance. The texture of the mesh throws the viewer into reflection are we preserving his legacy, or locking it away?
