Description
In this striking street scene from Colombia, a modest fruit shop sits beneath a burst of graffiti surrealism. On one side, neatly stacked mangoes, papayas and bananas are framed behind a clean window while on the other, a bold mural explodes with colour and comic book intensity. A purple-skinned figure in a turquoise cap locks eyes with a mechanical, monster-like creation, mid-exchange of electric energy or conversation.
The contrast between the everyday and the fantastical couldn’t be sharper yet here they coexist effortlessly. Its an emblem of Bogotás unique identity, where the grit of real life meets the limitless imagination of its artists.
