This collection of very rare images of Status Quo was taken by Ian while he was working on the Channel 4 documentary On the Road with Status Quo.
Ian formed a close relationship with the band and with their manager, Simon Porter, and was given all-access permission while on the road with them. These images provide fans with a unique insight into life behind the scenes, offering a perspective that has never been seen before.
The band enjoyed working with the film crew so much that they asked them to shoot their latest music video, Jam Side Down, aboard HMS Ark Royal while sailing across the Mediterranean Sea.
Ian filmed from a Merlin helicopter, hanging out over the sea to capture the band performing in front of the ski-jump ramp on the flight deck of HMS Ark Royal.
