Before the cameras rolled for the video, Ian Livesey’s lens was already at work. This black-and-white group portrait catches Manchester indie band Puressence on the streets of Salford during their pop video shoot — relaxed and unguarded between takes, the city’s raw brick and concrete framing them perfectly. It’s the kind of shot that feels more documentary than promotional, and all the better for it.
